Preschool Graduation

My big boy gradeuated from preschool at the end of May. I cannot believe he will be in Kindergarten next year.

Walking into the ceremony with a flower for Mommy.

Jackson with Teacher Raechel.

Getting his certificate and treat bag from Teacher Wendy (his 3-year-old teacher).

Getting money from Grammy Claudia for being a big graduate!

And the sink stands alone...

The sink and old cabinet were the last to go in our project. This is the last shot of those old cabinets!

Taping and Mudding and Painting, Oh My!

Shaun told me that the taping, mudding, painting, and tiling were my things in this project. He wasn't planning to get involved at all! So, I recruited my mom to help since she has done mudding many times before in her life as a wallpaper hanger. Here we are trying to make the ceiling and walls livable until the day we can afford to take the popcorn off the rest of the ceilings in the house and get texture put on!

A New Ceiling Takes Shape

Electrical...is complicated...

Can I just say that my husband is a genius. When we started the kitchen remodel we knew an encounter with electrical was coming, but had no idea how many wires there would be with the wall removed and ceiling exposed. Shaun rocked the electrical and we now have recessed lighting!

Notice the rake on the rafters, leftover from removing the insulation that was above the old ceiling. I think we took it down at some point before putting the new sheetrock in! :)

One of six new recessed cans...I love our new lighting!

There is my handy electrician. During this electrical effort I asked Shaun if he wanted to change careers...his answer was a resounding no! He said he wouldn't want to do this for other people because then he would really need to know what he was doing! :)
