We spent another weekend tearing out carpet and built in cabinets getting ready to lay the hardwood floors in our house. Every once in a while Shaun and I look at each other and wonder what we have gotten ourselves into, but then remember how wonderful the finished product will be. We had to do a bit more demo than we originally thought, but all in all things are starting to take shape. We only have a few more prep steps to complete and then we will begin laying the floors.
Daddy, Jackson, and Papa carrying in the hardwood.
The beginning of a large pile of boxes ready to acclimate in the living room.
The hallway without carpet, tack strip, or staples!
All the colors on the wall are from behind a set of built-ins that we took out. We are responsible for the greens, but not the black, orange, and rust. This is the future home of the piano and new shelving.
There used to be cabinets and a desk area here, but since we plan to make this wall an island someday we thought we better lay the floor as it will be then.
Last, but not least, this is an example of what our floor will look like. We are so excited!
